Police to hunt for perpetrators in the death of district militia



TAK BAI: -- Tak Bai district police began probing into the bomb explosion that killed a well-known militia yesterday.

The militia, Ismaeh Jihamart, was killed instantly when a bomb planted underneath his pickup truck parked outside his home exploded as he was driving to work yesterday morning.

The militia had joined government forces in gunning down a notorious militant Mahamaming Mama in an operation three years ago. The militant was responsible for three bombings in Tak Bai three years ago.

Police said they were scouting all CCTV cameras to his home to track down the perpetrators.

Police said Ismaeh was well aware of attempt on his life. But on Monday night, he had to park his truck outside his home when his nephew parked his car in his place.

This allowed the perpetrators to manage to plant the bomb underneath his truck at night.

The bomb later went off while he was driving to work at the office in the morning, police said.

Police said they have clues to the perpetrators and were collecting evidence before identifying them.
