larsjohnsson
Can you just change your retirement/over 50 years 1 year extension, to a 1 year extension for thai wife. The next time you do your 1 year extension at immigration
mxyzptlk
Yes. I've done it twice. Last time was Dec 2014. I guess it depends on your immigration office. Edited October 22, 2015 by mxyzptlk
larsjohnsson
Do you say that some office let you do it? And others tell you to go and get a non O visa first ?

ubonjoe
I don't think there is a immigration office that would refuse to change the reason for the extension from retirement to marriage to a Thai. There might be some that will make it difficult.
OJAS
Definitely an option which retirees living within the catchment area of the Kap Choeng office who are officially married to Thai women might seriously wish to consider for future extensions, I think, given that that particular office now issues 30-day "under consideration" stamps for retirement extensions as well as for marriage ones! KCI interviewing officers do give this as an option when they make their house visit.
