TAT to spend 120 mil baht for New Year's countdown event

Featured Replies

Note to TAT. You will have to stage multiple countdowns to get international news coverage. Don't forget scantily clad beauties. The Wat should make a nice backdrop for the debauchery.

Don't quite know where they got the idea that the BBC, CNN and possibly others would Televise the whole shebang?

At best, it might get 30-45 seconds in a World Wrap of similar Countdowns. Do they think this is something new?

Waste of money!

ChannelNewsAsia will give them 15 seconds. Sydney Harbor has become the world famous display, and they always add that Sydney is first Big City welcome the new year. With international news it'll get the better part of a minute, then they'll say something other places, and show a collage of clips a few seconds long. It'll be one of those. Maybe.

But maybe they'lll try to sell NYE in Bangkok to other countries. "What? You never heard about the countdown in Bangkok? What a loser!"

Say, remember about ten years ago there was a NYE bomb went off near CentralWorld? Was that ever resolved?

Is there a school " near" Wat Arun?

It would be a shame if you couldn't welcome the new year with a toast. ..
