my non B visa is due to expire on the 20th of November

Is it possible to get it renewed before it expires or do i have to until it expires.

Also I was thinking of travelling to the UK to get this done but got my last on in Penang would their be a problem to get it renewed in London.

I have all the paper work plus new work permit

Thanks for any help

Visas, the ones issues by consulates are renewed, only new ones are issued. That can be done before or after the current one "enter before" has expired, it doesn't matter.

So that means i can got to London and get it renewed before the 20th

As mentioned there is no renewal. With the correct paperwork you can have a new visa issued before or after the 20th,

Ok thanks for that paz just one more thing if you don't mind. Does it matter which consulate or embassy i go to providing the paperwork is correct.

Yes it does, some consulates are more difficult to deal than than others e.g would not issue visa for a non resident. Penang would do and London as well.

Ok so I guess I would be ok to go to London as I'm a British Citizen with a British Passport. Ive you can not get 2x tourist visas in Penang without a resident card. Didn't realise it was also for a Non B

No problem in Penang for non-imm visa to non-residents. As you have got one yourself.

Their have been reports of London denying multiple entry non-b visas based upon working here. I suggest you contact them before making plans to get the visa there.

Thanks for making me aware of that. I think i will just go to Penang as PAZ said it doesn't matter if my Non B is in date or expired I can still get one either way just have to change my plans a bit

Interesting post, as I am in a similar situation.

I own a legal company in Bangkok, however, due to business realities, I spend 50% of my time at the head office here in China, and 50% in Bangkok.

My Thai work permit is due to expire next month, and I need to return to Bangkok to renew it. To do this, I need to apply for a Non B visa, however the Thai Consulates here in China will not issue.

Any ideas from the experts on here ?

The embassy and consulates in China would do the visa if you have residency there.

Has your non-b visa already expired?

The consulate in Hong Kong would do a single entry non-b visa with paper work from you company and a valid work permit. Perhaps a stop over there on the way back would be an option. It is next day service for visas there.

Sorry for the double posting, I never realized. Ok yes, I am married to a Chinese national and have a residency permit for China. My wife is in the same position as myself, both Non B visas have expired but both work permits still valid until middle of next month. As a Chinese national, she also cannot obtain the required visa from China.

So it looks like a HK trip ... Thanks

Penang will issue a multiple entry non-B only if you have at least 8 months validity on your work permit.

You do know that if you make a border run before 20th of November you will get another 3 months permission of stay, extending the validity of your non-B to 15 months.

Yes im aware about about the extra three months but have to go back to the UK before and probably return after the 20th. Thats why I was asking about London issuing Non B visa as joe said their has been some reports of not getting them. So going to call before and find out if not Penang it is

Your wife will not be able to get a visa in Penang. Chinese nationals are on the list of countries that can only get visas in their home country.

It was for you. Since a post was made about getting a multiple entry visa in Penang. Hong Kong will not be a problem for her.

Ok thanks, it's just that I never mentioned Penang, but then you came back saying Penang and Chinese nationals, left me unsure.
