Trio busted for alleged extortion, drug use

Three men were arrested and charged yesterday at the Banteay Mancheay Provincial Court following accusations they extorted Cambodian workers returning from Thailand.

According to provincial police officer Phoeung Mansoeng, suspects Liv Tainghuor, Phal Seyha and Pich Chantra were arrested while drinking and planning what police say was another in a series of plots to swindle migrants through their taxi services.

“The three are [long-time criminals] and have committed extortion against many Cambodian workers,” he said.
