NLA to continue impeachment of former education minister Nov 5

BANGKOK, 1 November 2015 (NNT) - The National Legislative Assembly is scheduled to continue the impeachment procedure against a former education minister this week.

NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai has issued an order calling a sitting on November 5 to carry on impeachment proceedings against former Education Minister Somsak Prissananantakul under the effect of the 2014 Provisional Constitution.

This Thursday’s proceedings will see the questioning of Mr. Somsak by a committee set up for the purpose.

Other topics on the day’s agenda include the deliberation on the draft amendment of the Credit Information Business Act, the approval of the Statue of the International Renewable Energy Agency, and an amendment to the Revenue Code.

The NLA will also meet on November 6 to deliberate an amendment to the Criminal Procedure Code related to the use of the electronic tracking device on convicts who are temporarily released, and the questioning of the Prime Minister about the storage of rice supply acquired through the subsidy program under the previous government.

I tend to feel that ALL former Thai Ministers of Education should be impeached for dereliction of duty.
