What does it mean when someone puts a "T" in front of a man/boy's name???

calling someone "T-Nan" for example ... ?

Are you possible mishearing? If it is p-Nan (say) then it's pee-Nan which is elder sibling Nan.

Another possibility would be that is short for ท่าน (thaan falling tone). That is a very polite form of you or he which is used for people like ministers, ambassadors etc.
