making calls to the UK from a Thai mobile....

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the most cost effective way to make calls to the UK from a Thai mobile (with 1-2-Call sim) ??

Thanks..

It depends if you are calling a land line or a mobile in the UK.

I use about 5 different ways.

Thanks for sharing all of them.

There are several prefix numbers you can enter before dialling, sorry I use true and call the uk from online for free.

Use the search function there are lots of older threads covering this.

Ok, 1. Just dial direct from your mobile phone. I have DTAC. I use 00944....... Costs are very reasonable.

2. I use CAT Phone Net. You prepay to a CAT account. Quality is excellent. Then each time you phone you put in your CAT number first. Cost around 1.5 Baht/ minute.

3. Just VOIP. This is a website. Again you prepay your account. You can phone from a computer or from your mobile. Costs from a computer to a UK land line are usually free. From your Thai mobile to UK land line 1 Baht / minute. Quality can range from excellent to rubbish.

I hope this helps.

Come back with your experiences.

Below are some of the prefixes.

AIS: 003 3THB/min, 00500 5THB/min + VAT

001, 009 via CAT

007, 008 via TOT

So for the UK 012345 666666 would be: 00344(0) remove the zero from UK number, so you would dial 0034412345 666666

Use Skype of Viber

I was looking in to this a few days ago. from an AIS sim, call *005*0*44# - you should receive a msg back telling you the rate to country 44.

To make the call, call 0050044...
