STUDMEYER
Hi ThaiVisa, I want to make a custom muffler from scratch or from an empty pre made can. I have visited multiple muffler/bike/automotive shops and several machine shops looking for someone who can build this, and its been a frustrating unsuccessful slog. If you know of a shop that can build a muffler from scratch and isn't going to quote 9500 baht, and 5 days to complete it, please share. Likewise, if you have a grinder, vice, work bench, welder/torch, drill press and rivet gun, I'd be willing to buy you beer to use the facilities. Thanks, SM

Puwa
Not sure if he's your man, but maybe worth a visit. He's done custom exhaust work for me on 2 cars, and the welds have held for many years, but I never asked him to build a box from scratch. CMKiwi
There is a guy out Mae Rim way (Not too far from my house actually) and he makes mufflers and header pipes from scratch. I think his brand name is Home or something like that. All stainless steel stuff and reasonably priced. I have used him a bit when I want aluminium welded. He does a good job and very inexpensive. The only thing Id be worried about is the noise output with some after market mufflers. When the BiB were having the random checkpoints, I was stopped and told that my FMF Q4 muffler was not allowed as it was too noisy. To prove his point he wound open the throttle on my bike.....what a richard cranium! I agreed with the police officer but suggested that very few people ride around with the throttle wide open... that would be plain crazy when in 1st gear crawling around the CBD. I replaced the FMF with the stock muffler for the CRF 250 but now the random checkpoints have ceased/died down may revert. The FMF certainly allowed for a better acceleration albeit a tad noisier. But anyhow, let me know if you need more directions as this is a bit out of town.
