What I wouldn't give to see Jingthing lapdancing Russians in a sardines to Jomtien baht bus.

Only two things the Russians bring to Thailand

Sullen faces and bad manners.

What about hot young women in tight shorts. That has to be a plus.biggrin.png

Yes i did over look that. wai2.gif

They can stay if single.

Western Russians speak english, Eastern Russians dont!

I've met a fair amount of Russians over the years in Thailand and I can say that location does not necessarily indicate proficiency in English.

In fact, of all of the people who I have met over the past two years, the one with the best written and spoken English is from Eastern Siberia.

Whilst I've met reasonably wealthy people from the Moscow region, for instance wealthy enough to buy into the Waterfront project, who could not speak a word of English. Their female partner had to speak for them.

Also, as aforementioned, often the women have better English than the men. Perhaps the women watch more American TV. smile.png

So I would have to disagree. It's not at all uniform. I have met many from the western part of Russia; Moscow region, Kostroma etc, whose English is relatively poor and many from the Far East and Siberia with whom I could sit and have a normal conversation in English. From Sakhalin, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk and similar.

As an aside, which parts of Russia would you consider western?

As you can gather, I consider your statement insulting, throwaway nonsense.

Wow you must be very friendly to talk to every person on the beach

to come up with that figure. that could be considered strange behaviour,

or are you just making an assumption based on what ? wai2.gif

worked on and off with the Russians for 20 years.

The list is long, but i wont go into that.

Best way to sum it up is,

They don't travel well. wai2.gif

Sure we would welcome these!

They are coming back to Tesco Lotus , that's for sure. Half of the customers lining up at the cashier yesterday were Russians.

Nature has a wonderful way of heralding in the seasons, the falling leaves in Autumn, the birds singing at the start of spring etc. We too have tell-tale signs of winter approaching in northern Europe when the Babushkas start popping up on Pattaya beach.
