Short Before Completely Destroying a PC.................

Hello and Sawasdee Khrap,

It seems that I made a huge mistake to buy this old Lemel and spent too much time on it. Now I've got all running, but wasn't thinking about to keep my USB wireless antenna in that MS might find and install the right driver for it.

I've tried both, one is an older TP-Link, a TL-WN 321 G model, the other one a Tenda V7TW 311 U DET series. Both work well with W 7.

The problem is that it's almost impossible to run a LAN cable to my desk because the router is in a classroom next to our office.

I've read various posts on plenty websites and most want to sell you a shitty driver update program. It seems that I'm not alone and would really deeply appreciate a solution for my dilemma.

This machine, on older Lemel is really driving me crazy. Any ideas would be really nice, I've tried registry commands that didn't work well and I had to restore my machine with Acronis.

Thanks a lot in advance !!! Good start tomorrow..aeeh it's only a few more hours for me. facepalm.gif

Lost, I often have problems when I install a NIC that didn't come with a PC whether it is a PCI or USB. The problem is usually that the computer doesn't use it as default but rather tries to use the old ones, wired and wireless. It hunts until it times out.

I almost always have to go into Device Manager and disable any that I'm not wanting to use, and make sure that the new one is enabled, and that it is the only network NIC that is enabled. For some reason laptops can find either but add on's with either a laptop or a desktop get touchy for me.

Try device manager and be sure that new one is the only one that's enabled, reboot and see if it helps. I hope it does.

Cheers,

Cliff

Thanks, dude. Slept an hour, produced all my worksheets, using my notebook. which I might or might not need and feel like a Zombie now.

Oh boy, life's one of the craziest things. I'm on it, but six hours straight are waiting today. Cheers and a good week......thumbsup.gif

None that works?

(in German, not to be found in English)

http://www.tp-link.de/support/download/?model=TL-WN321G&version=V1

Maybe they don't work.

Just see you have W10 installed?

HW (of 2007) with last driver editions of 2010 up to W7?

That might be for the bin!

Something like SlimDrivers is worth a try.

Maybe there is a generic driver for the chipset (not from TP).

Maybe!

Internet is full of trouble messages with people trying to use it on newer system.

It seems unsupported after Win 7.

Edit

Upto V5 could be chosen.

Thanks a lot for all the nice answers, I guess I have to apologize for not getting back earlier. Here's a ( short) explanation what I went through and it isn't even over yet.

The machine is currently doing 228 updates at my school, won't make the mistake again and stay until 9 pm which I did when I started the upgrade last Friday afternoon at school guess it was around 3 pm..I thought I could get the thingy ready, not taking it home, but I was- again- wrong.

Finally had to take the piece of shit home to my angry wife, Friday evening was completely destroyed. But it came better, to be sarcastic.....

It looked good in the beginning and then the shit ( and it was a lot of it) really hit the fan, but in a way that I was very close to bang my head against the wall, commit suicide, or simply destroy this piece of junk.

I finally ended up and had a sleepless night, (having a very good functioning PC and a notebook next to me, plus son's PC).

But I wanted to finish the installation and it became the worst nightmare since I switched my first computer on.

Most programs I need didn't work with Windows 10 and finding a solution to make one work took up to some hours. I thought I'd go insane to be honest. ( it seems that I already am...)

No sound, no MS office, no this, no that. It became more and more, but the freaking perfectionist ( and I hate me for trying to do all that it's almost perfect) in me didn't tell me to go to sleep.

In between all that bs, the Brother ( DCP J 125 started to make funny noises and refused all tries to fix it. Then I was too close to start crying, I couldn't get any more. Then at 6 am, I went to bed for 20 minutes, what a joke. Ot made all even worse.\

Okay, I had my 700 worksheets I needed for a six-hour non-stop teach day, but I felt like a zombie, couldn't walk straight and driving to school was a sort of adventurous. No idea how I e did make it, but after the six hours straight I was again trying to fix the drivers for both USB's. A TENDA and a TP Link one...\

No way, the technology drove me crazy, I left school at 6 pm and was not in the mood to eat anything. My biggest mistake was to contu=inue, instead of going to bed.

I have to admit that I'm not able to solve such problems and finally went back to Windows 7. I had my W 7 and ten backed up with Acronis, but MS left something on my hard drive that made the genuine 7 gone, MS office wasn't activated anymore and a lot more stuff that I couldn't understand.

I had enough time to put all ( and I have got a lot of programs I'm using for school related stuff) programs successfully on. But when I came home, I found out that our son's freaking crazy about an IPhone, I can't afford to buy for him.

I offered him to give him my just purchased Samsung J 1 with a 32 GB SD card and I'll use my old Samsung, but he denied and wants an IPhone?

My wife doesn't get it that he doesn't need a 20, or 30 K phone and after al that PC crap, I was not in the mood to see two unsatisfied faces.

I packed a little bag drove to a nice place with a pool and checked in a hotel room, where I'm sitting next to the pool and make some more rounds in a sec.

Talk soon ? Cheers-facepalm.gif
