NCPO: Secretariat working to eliminate sinister influence groups

BANGKOK, 9 November 2015 (NNT) – The NCPO Secretariat meeting has stressed its role to communicate with the public on legal matters and the elimination of influence groups in local communities, an army deputy spokesperson says.

The deputy spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army Col Sirichan Ngathong has revealed the outcome of the National Council for Peace and Order's (NCPO) Secretariat meeting, chaired by the deputy secretary-general of the NCPO Gen Walit Rochanapakdee.

She said that the meeting concluded the operations of the past week, which included the crackdown on illegal activities such as drugs smuggling, illegal logging, gambling, and the influence groups. Operations also incorporated assistance to the public in developing places with public benefits, disaster mitigation, and maintaining the continuity for the realization of the village community.

On the legal implementation against trespassing forest land for the cultivation of rubber trees, the NCPO’s armed forces have provided support to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s operations, including the participation of military students.

The secretariat meeting yesterday also emphasized the Damrongtham Center role that could help solve complaints from the general public as well as providing them with the knowledge on laws that are related to the public's daily life.

The NCPO will also execute strict measures on regulating influence groups and the possession of armed weapons, according to the government’s urgent policy, as well as ensuring public safety from close cooperation of police officers at the local level.

Mafia, sinister influence groups, dark forces, unseen hands ?

Is this LoS or the Twilight Zone ?

No govt will ever try, let alone succeed, in getting rid of all these groups as the start is too close to home.

When they say "eliminate", do they mean detaining the victims in custody at a temporary prison in the compound of the 11th Military Circle in Bangkok? This center has a 66.6% successful elimination rate with the proviso that the crime is LM

Here we go, thought crime next. ? facepalm.gif

More than a Kingdom I feel Lack of Sanctions (LOS) is more like the Twilight Zone aka LA LA LAND, land of make believe, land of smoke and mirrors. It is anything other than honest, truthful, sincere, moral, or ethical. I also feel Thailand is a lost cause. It is on the same level of other totally corrupt countries.

The "haves" have it all and the other "peasants" can fight for the "table scraps."

Maybe they've been picking up tips watching TRUE movies which has shown The Minority Report and The Adjustment Bureau recently.

Actually I think the cartoon channels are more their style. ?

Repositioning the trough.

Clear away a few local bosses and replace with their own. Job done.

On another note, the current and upcoming mega projects will ensure the present masters and their backers will get a nice little earner. And it will all be 'legit'.

What do you mean "next"!!!

Please try to keep up ;-)

your mission, if you should decide to accept it...

The only sinister group that operates successfully in Thailand at this time is the Junta , anyone who introduces section 44 without the public being asked is not only sinister but a dictatorship in the making, though one exciting event that I haven't seen mentioned is the total electoral defeat of the Junta's friends in Burma , perhaps that will happen in Thailand in the not to distant future...................coffee1.gif

So you think the Junta and the NCPO did that do you ?.

If they wanted them dead, why even arrest them in the first place and make sure everybody gets to know they died in prison ?.

And what benefit to any future information they might get from a defendant about everyone else involved would that have ?.

Or do you think somebody very powerful might be scared sh*tless he will join them and so might be taking steps to silence them ?.

Assuming they were murdered, which do you think is most likely ?.

Didn't really think that through did you. Just a simplistic whine at the junta with whatever you are being spoon fed by your red-shirt newspapers.

There are no 'red shirt' newspapers - they have been banned, didn't ya know? ;)

They make it sound all so,,,,, Mafia LOL

The truth is very simple Thais are not rocket scientists and its simply simple standover tactics from dirty thugs. That the RTP used to allow and probably some still ignore your army stamp.

The problem is once there caught your punishments are laughable

You can kill a man and get 7000 fine and walk away. In fact kill 4 for the bonus points.

A Disgrace and you should start there

It looks like you really can fool some of the people all of the time!

Major question for both countries is will the respective militaries accept defeat .

The "haves" have it all and the other "peasants" can fight for the "table scraps."

And the Police and Army are there to protect the privileged few from those peasants.

Why do they do it?

Because the heads of these organizations can get away with mass corruption and attain massive wealth with no recourse, the Elite have got it all sewn up, allow lower level corruption to attain a massive private Army of men in uniform who guarantee your way of life and keep the poor in their place.

they know them, why speak about it, why not just seize the money of the Shinawatras and close the case?

Eliminate mafia, sinister influence groups? And I thought any new “shut down Bangkok” attempt is unlawful…

Depends, if the Generals have stolen enough money to ensure they and future generations of their clan will live a life of privilege and wealth, I would say there's a good chance they will fade into the distance in private jets.

I was talking to a restaurant owner who had a couple of slot machines out in the open. I asked whether that was legal? He said not to worry because someone comes regularly (wink wink) to collect money. Kind of makes you feel so safe that everything is in order . . . NOT!!!

tentacles of control creeping, steadily, throughout the Kingdom

How much are you paid to defend the indefensible?

"...sinister influence group..."

NCPO?

"illegal activities such as drugs smuggling, illegal logging, gambling, and the influence groups." I seem to recall plenty of stories over the years that involve military in these sinister activities. Dear Junta "Go to the mirror, boys"

round them all up and make a deal with Jakarta to ship em' to crocodile island.

"The NCPO will also execute strict measures on regulating influence groups"

An unfortunate descriptive as the Junta does have the "legal" authority to execute people without due process of law under Article 44.

But the Thai military hasn't openingly killed civilians since 2010, so one must excuse this over-active verb usage.

This is going to end in a bloodbath (again).
