Is Dtac sim down?

Featured Replies

Cannot call or receive or sms since about 3 pm today. Re-registered in August (for the second time), and it has worked OK until today. My partner with Dtac has same problem as me. Other Dtac user friend I know is OK.

Bangkok.

Now OK, but it's a bit spotty, and my friend who is with Dtac who said it was OK, now says he too has had a few problems, ans a few sms and emails have arrived.. Not sure of the cause, but I've had yet another fibre optic upgrade announcement from True for my internet (the third in about 2 months). Great if it's true, (s'cuse the pun), but with all the "gateway" stories, one has to wonder what tf is going on.

Just guessing, but it *might* be because DTAC is 'refarming' their spectrum use to include more 4G/LTE usage, less 3G and even less 2G on the towers they operate.

When they make those kinds of spectrum 'partitioning' changes the system sometimes has to push through frequency usage information to everyone's SIM. They may be having some issues with that. Though it was only supposed to affect 1800 MHz users (of their TriNet 850/1800/2100 spectrum frequencies).

Then again, it could also just be an issue with a single tower or group towers.
