Just cane across this post in a Russian blog.

http://bmpd.livejournal.com/1575165.html

It says that a Sukhoi SuperJet SSJ100 is being prepared for delivery to Thai Air Force and will be used as a VIP jet.

The second one will be delivered by the end of 2016

The aircraft developed by Sukhoi has a dramatic history of a demo flight crash in Indonesia.

Can only guess why they've chosen a Russian supplier for this, doesn't look like an obvoius choice.

Hope it serves well to the Thai VIPs, wish them good luck and all the best )

Another little Thailand nugget in the Wiki page on the SuperJets....

20 July 2010 – Orient Thai Airlines to buy at least 12 Superjet 100s from Sukhoi.[118]

24 November 2010 – Thailand's Orient Thai Airlines announced the purchase of 12 Sukhoi Superjet-100/95Bs civilian aircraft.[122]

I'm guessing, those aircraft were never delivered, since I've not heard of Orient Thai operating Russian jets in its commercial fleet.

But.. you gotta know, if Orient Thai wanted to buy them, then the aircraft have to be GOOOODDDD!!!!! whistling.gif
