Any Christmas food in the shops in Pattaya yet ?

Featured Replies

We are planning to spend a few days down in Pattaya over the next couple of weeks, to do some Christmas food shopping. Looking for Christmas Puddings, Mince Pies, Brandy Snaps, etc. Are there any of these in the shops in Pattaya yet ?
Thanks for any help.

Try Central Festival or Big C (on Pattaya Klang)

Expensive return festive shopping spree but all larger stores are catering for the farang sweet toothed brigade.

I expect that M&S and Tops in Central will have Xmas products early on. High prices though.

I have been intensively following the appearance of Christmas puddings because I really like them and i can report the following as of two days ago smile.png :-

Central Festival only have biscuits and chocolates - but no Christmas pudding yet

Marks & Spencer's in Central Festival have three types of Christmas pudding for sale ranging in price from 595 to 895(even including an non-alcoholic one – boring)

.Friendship doesn't have anything yet

Villa have just received the shipment of Coles Christmas puddings from Australia. I bought one the other day for about 600

There's stollen at Friendship. Bit pricey at around Baht 500

Looks like the rolled turkey breasts at Friendship are finished already. Grabbed a couple last week. Last year they were around Baht 750, but this time around they were nearer Baht 950. Haven't seen them anywhere else.

Stollen is nice and makes an interesting but still seasonal change from Xmas cake. 500B is way over the top though. I used to get them in Europe for about 2EUR (80B).

Used to get as in I remember at 16 my first brand spanking new 50 cc motorbike which did 50 mph bsa bantams nightmare lol cost 50 quid but at 5 quid a week I got daddy to sign as gurantor.

Villa market have butterball turkeys.

Plenty of tangerines around. Brussels sprouts could be a problem though.

Makro always have small frozen sprouts that arent bad at all. I usually have a packet in my freezer.

In season they often have fresh ones but the price is high.

Thanks to all for replies, much appreciated. I think we may wait another week before venturing down there, especially with the floods !

Classic scene in A Christmas Story when the family is forced to do Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant. A Peking duck is brought out and beheaded at the table.

Could be worse.

... Friendship doesn't have anything yet...

I can't help you this year but a word of advice based on observations these past couple of years, buy your 2016 Christmas puddings from Friendship in late April 2016 when they still have loads of the 2015 stock on the shelf at discounted prices.

I spotted a ginger man at friendship the other day so Christmas has arrived.

Villa market have butterball turkeys.

...with the biggest bird on sale for 5880 baht.

Fill yer boots!

Central Festival has them a bit cheaper (but not much).
