Tourism Pattaya Night Run 2025 Draws 2,500 Runners in Vibrant Celebration
Picture courtesy of Pattaya City Hall Pattaya on the evening of 22 June, saw a celebration of colour, music and energy as capacity 2,500 participants took part in the Pattaya Night Run 2025, a 5-kilometre run organised to boost sport tourism and celebrate diversity under the theme “COLORFUL PRIDE”. Held at Bali Hai Pier, the event was a collaborative effort between the Chonburi Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports, Pattaya City and various public, private and community sectors. The run aimed to position Pattaya as a premier destination for sport tourism in Thailand, stimulate the local economy, and promote inclusivity during Pride Month. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Pongsathit Pichanan, Deputy Governor of Chonburi, with Mr. Poramet Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya, in attendance. They were joined by senior local officials, representatives from government agencies and the event’s organisers, as over two thousand Thai and international runners gathered in high spirits. The route was divided into five themed stations, each offering unique visual and interactive experiences: 1. Night Light Carnival – A nostalgic Thai fair complete with Ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, and traditional game booths. 2. Vivid Pop – A tunnel of multi-coloured streamers lit by lasers and vibrant lighting effects. 3. Rainbow Heaven – A dazzling rainbow-lit section stretching over 20 metres, celebrating unity. 4. Groove and Glow – A lively zone filled with glowing animal-shaped installations, photo ops, live DJ sets and dance performances. 5. Joy with Smile – A cheerful tunnel of smiley faces leading runners into the final stretch before the finish line. The evening concluded with a high-energy concert by PROXIE, the popular T-POP group, which kept the celebratory atmosphere going long after the race ended. Organisers expressed their hopes that events like the Pattaya Night Run would not only enrich the city’s cultural and recreational offerings but also generate significant revenue for local hotels, restaurants and businesses. It is expected to contribute to Pattaya’s long-term vision of becoming a leading sport tourism centre in Thailand. This year’s edition successfully combined health, entertainment, diversity and community spirit, marking a significant step forward in Pattaya’s sustainable tourism journey.
