KittenKong
Live in Jomtien, i wish the bus from Foodmart would do a Bangkok service, even if is was only 4 or 5 a day, i am sure they get full bus for this Take the Jomtien bus to the airport and then the airport train to Bangkok. http://www.bangkok.com/airport-rail-link.htm Easy. Cheap.
jeffinbangkok
From Pattaya taxis back to Bangkok that came from there have to deadhead. Therefore, on 2nd Road in Pattaya, you may find Thai guy who finds you a Bangkok taxi for 200 baht added to the 600 he gives the taxi driver and you pay 800 baht. If you want to sweeten the deal then 900 will make them much happier as it will cover the 70 baht highway toll. Therefore offering 870 should tell them you know roughly what the situation is regarding Taxis deadheading back from taking people from Bangkok to Pattaya. IMO, Always smile and have fun when negotiating.
mrblonde
Last September we used a taxi guy on a soi just off 2nd Road (heading in land) and the driver took us to Don Muang to pick up a friend, then on to Ayutthaya in a small mini van, Driver was clearly off his tits on something, and by the time we arrived, the 3 of us passengers were a bag of nerves. Bus 1 hour and 40 minutes from Pattaya to Bangkok Ekemai and 2 hours from Bangkok Ekemai to Pattaya (THB 120) BTS to Asoke 20 minutes (THB 35) Taxi from BTS Asoke to your final destination is about THB 80-100 If you carry easy to go luggage, this is the way to go
