BANGKOK: CAT Telecom is targeting total revenue of Bt52.8 billion next year, of which Bt 24.8 billion will be from the wireless service business, according to acting president Colonel Sanphachai Huvanandana.

This year it targets total revenue of Bt53.5 billion and net profit of Bt3.4 billion. CAT's wireless business gained revenue of more than Bt22.4 billion over the past 10 months of this year, of which Bt21.3 billion were from wholesaling 3G bandwidth under the CAT-True Corp partnership, Bt4.8 billion from fixed broadband and data communications business, Bt950 million from its own 3G service, and Bt400 million from providing network sharing and the rest from trunk mobile service.

The wireless business is expected to meet the year-end revenue target of Bt26.5 billion.

CAT has wholesaled 3G bandwidth on 850MHz to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Among new MVNO partners are Data CDMA Communication and Samart i-Mobile, which will launch the service soon. It has offered the 3G service on retail basis under My brand.

The My service currently has more than 1.13 million subscribers, of which 1 million are prepaid subscribers. It targets a total of 2 million users next year.

The My service will spend Bt200 million on the marketing campaign next year and expand its sale service points to 5,000 by the end of this year before rising to 10,000 within the first quarter of next year.
