I went to a visa run company today and she told me there is a new place, leave 6am, come back 8pm from phuket. Can do 3 month visa there. But she could not tell me any information. Price is 1900B. Anyone hear of this. I think it's spelled SHOON or something close to that. I just booked to Penang but I really don't want to do that if I can do it for half price and half the time

There is AFAIK only Kota Bharu, Malaysia and Penang which offer visas if travelling by road from Phuket.

Neither will provide a same day service.

I think there is some misunderstanding !

bus down to Penang overnight, arrive Penang 9 ish turn in ur passport, stay the night, get passport back an back on the bus.

I did look at the link which seems to be poorly written and out of date.

If you are just doing a border run then the best bet from Phuket is to Ranong. Several well-established companies in Phuket doing such, I did so myself many years ago. Leave around 0600, return around 1700.

Satun is in Thailand, it's a 6 hour drive to the border, did it in July

its a 4 hour drive each way, exit, boat ( 50 /seat each way or 400 for the whole boat r/t) across to Kawthoung stamp in an out of Myanmar ( new $10 bill) and back 1 hour

u can do it by local bus's for less than 300 baht each way

or get 2 or more together an rent a car, there is a facebook page for visa runs from Phuket where u can post for riders.

Maybe the thread is misunderstood because the ambiguous term "visa run" is used while actually just a "border run" is meant, just using another entry on Non O visa e.g.?

This indeed seems possible to some place in Ranong where you do short boat trip to Myanmar (is it a casino site BTW?, "Treasure Island Resort & Casino").

Once you will get passport stamped out, then we go to the dock and take our Phuket Visa Run ferry boat over to Burma/Myanmar.

Ranong is ONLY for stamp not a visa

u can do the casino stamp ( in and out if u already have a visa ( ie non o, non B, double tourist) entry trip but its expensive vs the

head to Ranong immigration at the boat pier and take the local boat across an back

There is NOTHING remotely resembling anywhere called Shoon, i have driven all the border entry points with Thailand/Malaysia
