Non-Immigrant 'O' 500k in bank a/c

Featured Replies

My husband has just entered Thailand on a 90 day Non-Immigrant 'O' visa. He is the guardian of our son who is studying at an approved international school. Our son has just done a one year extension on his Non-Immigrant 'ED' visa, which is now valid until November 2016.

My husband wants to apply for a one year extension at the end of his 90 day visa period in February 2016. A few people have told us that he needs to have 500,000 baht in a Thai bank account for 60 days prior to the day he will apply for the extension, but we think it is only 30 days prior. Which is correct?

He is not the guardian of you child he the parent of your child. The extension being applied for is based upon being the parent of a child attending school.

For the first extension the 500k baht needs to be in the bank for 30 days and 90 days thereafter.
