This is the sort of adverse publicity that plays into the hands of the opposition but I'm sure the implications of such things are beyond the collective intelligence of the powers that be. Not for vague charges of convenience under S44 or LM stuff at a military court. Make it clear and definite for things that will still be understood and still stand scrutiny in 5 or 10 years time. Otherwise the martyr syndrome which is inevitable, will just be all that stronger. The pair are under bail for terrorism charge since 2010 ! ...and that has exactly what to do, with them, visiting a park? The two were release under conditon like no political activitie or incite unrest.... On a other english thai newspaper citing fb page of one suspects, the two claim they go to park for make investigation, no like simple tourist, it's look like political activity...... I do not agree with the UDD leaders, but I do recognize that they should have the right of going to visit the park. I recognize they should have the freedom of expression.Yes of course they make their trip known in public to create some stir, but if there is nothing to hide, the army could easily have told them "you are welcome here, we have nothing to hide". They could even throw in a tour guide and a photo-op to show that the UDD and army are now working together. What a complete failure at PR from the junta's side.A group of 200 are allowed to shout obscene words at the US Embassy, but two people are not allowed to visit a public place? The yellows can go and demonstrate against a certain country and the reds get arrested for not having yet reached their destination (for whatever reason). The whole thing could/is turning into a nightmare. It is said that trouble is not wanted yet both sides seem to be doing just the opposite. Any posters here got favorite red or yellows shirts?. My Thai intended, whose nickname is 'red' hasn't worn her favorite red dress for ages. It's a great shame when peoples choices are becoming less and less. It seems clear to me that that certain political parties will never be allowed and that can only mean an unstable picture in the future.
