Mae Sot border!

Featured Replies

I am curently staying in Phitsanulok and need to activate my 3rd entry on my triple entry tv and im thinking to do that at the Mae Sot border. So my question is, is it still posible to make a ' visa run' to Mae Sot ? Anyone been doing it recently?

Thanks

If you have a valid visa for re-entry you can do the crossing at Mae Sot.

If you do not have a visa they will not let you leave the country.

Enjoy your trip to Talad Rim Mooie, the pleasant walk across the bridge and a nice chat with the Burmese Immigration officers. Pay your B500 and after you re enter have a wander round the big riverside market.

Good luck.

Just did a visa run to Mae Sot border and after arrived there just walked over the bridge and straight into the Myanmar immigration got my arrival and depature stamp paid 500 thb (took 2 min) and walked back to the thai immigration. It is the easiest visa run i have ever done. If the Thai immigration officers was as kind and polite as the Myanmar officers it would be a pleasure to enter Thailand and not such a nightmare as it can be from time to time.

Their attitudes at Myanmar Immigration have taken a 180 degree turn for the better over the last few years. We were joking that they sent the ones at the Maesai/Techelek crossing to Dale Carnegie courses. Good for them that they see the opportunities in participating in the global economy.
