I'm looking to get a pug as we don't have enough outside area for a proper dog.

Any leads?

Not to try to change your choice.. but theres a couple of Mini schnauzer breeders in town, and I never knew what superb little dogs they are.. bags of character, great guard / alarm, and no shedding !!

My favourite dogs are Staffys, but I like any similar sized dogs with good temperaments.

I would prefer a local breeder as I would prefer the dog to choose me, as I am very 'dominant' as far as dogs are concerned and many dogs find living with me quite difficult (just like the missus really...).

Are there no rescue dogs at shelters who need homes? Are there no strays who need love? The selling and buying of dogs should be banned.

I do support the sentiment.. but there are good reasons to want to imprint on a puppy..

My next dog(s depending on space) will probably be a rescue mutt.. But more than happy with the way things turned out..

Yes. If any one knows of any Pug puppies in shelters in Chiang Mai, I'd be more than happy to take alook.

You know I just talked on the phone to my friends little son. He got a dog for his birthday. So I asked whay kind of dog (fully knowing it must be a Goldie). Why? Because all the wealthy people in big houses in Yokohama have them now as they are popular. Meanwhile the family travel alot, leave the poor thing with the grandparents, who cannot possibly give a young Golden Retriever the daily exercise it needs. Totally unsuitable breed for them. If a purebreed is necessary They should have bought a Pug!

That's another reason why I want a small dog. If the whole family goes away, the pug will come with us. If I'm left to my own devices while the missus goes to the outlaw's for a week or two, then the pug will come to work with me. Much easier than carting a great dane around.
