bankruatsteve
Sugar soap sounds like a great product for this purpose, but just about any home cleaning product will do the job. My wife uses Magi-Clean and can find at Target, Makro, Big C, etc. Probably why the "experts" at Home Pro don't know about cleaning product for painting is that they've never painted in their life and most, not all, Thai painters don't bother with cleaning. But, clean you must.
condo bought
So can somebody name one of 'a just about any home cleaning product' that would do. I think the damage of using a wrong one that damages the paint outweighs the benefit of not using one. I will wipe and dust. Sand with sand paper. Wash with water and wipe again. If there is a home cleaning product that could be recommended. I wouldn't want to use a wrong one that will damage the paint.
bazza40
It's virtually impossible to do any damage with dilute ammonia, and it leaves no residue because it evaporates. Wipe down the surface with cloth soaked in ammonia, then with clean water.
