PHUKET:-- Armed pirates hijacked a Thai-flagged fishing boat near Koh Lipe, south of Phuket, on Wednesday night.

Six armed men allegedly boarded the boat, forced the captain of Chok Boonmee 5 to maroon his crew and then head toward Langkawi, Malaysia, explained a Royal Thai Navy report.

Boat owner Falil Pongtae, 46, contacted authorities, who quickly rescued the crew from a rock outcropping about 3.5 nautical miles east of Koh Lipe.

ISIS ?

The shoe on the other foot?

....smells fishy.....like there might be a lot more behind this story....

ISIS ?

ISNOT !

That's one way to rescue to slaves they use to fish with. They should have marooned the captain, freed the slaves, sold the fish and burned the boat.

So how did the boat owner know and contact authorities, and where is the boat and the skipper now? What are Malaysian authorities doing?

Sounds like an insurance job to me, and the Chok Boonmee 5 will appear soon under a new name and coat of paint.

Owner Falil....With that name, I bet anyone $100 bucks he has Malaysian relatives or close friends. he's not Buddhist.
