Visa extension suggestions

Featured Replies

I would like to stay in Thailand for 3 1/2 - 4 months.

Plan to get Single entry tourist visa (60 days), do 30 day extension (1900 baht) total 3 months....for the extra 2-3 weeks???

Is it possible to arrive and enter as a Non Visa tourist (30 days) and then start the 60 day single

entry visa, and then extend that for 1900 baht?

If able to do that....do I have to leave Thailand at any point i.e to start the single entry visa?

Thanks

It is extremely unlikely that an Immigration Officer will agree to give a visa exempt entry when a passport contains a valid visa.

With the tourist visa + one 30 day extension of stay you can remain in Thailand for almost 90 days. If more time is required you must leave the country and either obtain a new tourist visa or re enter the country using a visa exempt entry which will give either 15 or 30 days depending on Nationality. Visa exempt entries are extendable by 30 days.

You need to use the single entry tourists visa on entry to the country.

After the 30 day extension of the 60 day entry finishes you could do a border run for a visa exempt entry that would give your a 15 day entry or 30 days if you are from a G7 country. Then you could apply for a 30 day extension for the entry.

Tourists are only allowed to stay for 90 days then you have to leave the country.

You can come back again but 90 days is the limit, if you stay any longer you face arrest and fines.

Thanks for all of your input.....I was just trying to see if there was a way to avoid doing a visa run.
