Not married, no kids. 49 yo on January.

I am just asking if there is a non O visa that allows one year stay because some agent told me so.

I was told that this visa is for those wishing to stay long term and do business or retirement for spouse.

Can this be correct? Or I get false information? Thanks guys.

The only options you have are

  • A Single or a multiple entry tourist visa
  • To find employment with a Thai company and obtain a "B" visa + Work permit
  • Enroll with a language school and obtain an ED visa.

Once you turn 50 the option of retirement becomes available.

If your spouse is on an extension of stay for the reason of retirement, you can get a non-immigrant visa to travel to Thailand and then in Thailand get one-year extensions of stay regardless of your age.

If you are employed by a company outside Thailand and your employer requires you to travel to Thailand several times a year for business purposes, you can get a multiple-entry non-B visa valid for one year, which will allow you to stay in Thailand for a maximum of 90 days on every visit.

You can, as well, join a BA, MSc, etc. program @ a Thai Uni and get ED visa and extensions
