I want to know why the officer insisted to ask me a Tabien Ban, after hundreds of phone calls to the owner of my residence, she sends us the lease, only have a registered papier with the address of the family of my Gf in Isaan, and she no have Ta Bien Ban, she is only Manager.

After shouting a good yell in the office,

HYU
POM MAY THAI OK KRAP ?
DOU LEONI (BIG SMILE AND HYPOCRISY)

(MY HAND SHOwING MY FACE)
POM... MAY... MI TABIEN BAAAN ! OK may ?

I was told to wait 30 seconds, I was made to move it for stamp, , it m has done paid and walked out with a nice extension.
1) Why does he have me yell in the office for nothing?

2)I 'm wondering , can I obtain and how to get the yellow Ta Bien ban ?
3) What to do to not have to yell the next time?

Thanks in advance wink.png

Many immigration offices want a copy the owners tabien bann and ID card attached to the rental agreement.

UbonJoe, thanks, i'm happy to talk with you were also telling me that it was forbidden to turn back into a border last time smile.png

I must therefore obtain a photocopy tabienban the place where I am , or my Gf Because she have for Isaan ?

and ID Card of the owner, the owner is a chinese, i never meet he.

It is a real problem for me , I have to redo an extension in three months , and I do not know how to have it.

After then , I make a new passport.

They want a copy of the owners tambien baan for where you are living and ID card. If the landlord is not a Thai citizen it would be their passport and proof of ownership.

Perhaps check into a hotel near another office and apply for the next extension there.

Can only just check my understanding on this please. If I need a residence certificate, I can check into a hotel, get the receipt and use that as a residence certificate?

A hotel would not be good enough to get a certificate of residence. Maybe if you were long stay in the hotel it could be done.

A hotel receipt is not a "certificate of residence". Such a certificate can only be obtained from immigration or your Embassy.

So how would checking into a hotel help in any shape or form?

Allying for a tourist visa entry extension is not the same as what you asked about. You seem to want a certificate of residence.

By staying in a hotel he would get the receipt, use that address on the application form and use the receipt to prove the address.

Got it! A hotel receipt can be used in lieu of a certificate of residence. Could it also be used to get a tax id for example? Or only used for extending a tourist visa?

You are confusing proof of residence with a certificate of residence. A certificate of residence has to be applied for at an immigration office.

Proof of residence is needed to apply for an extension. A certificate of residence would be used to get a drivers license for example.

She did not ask for proof of residence, It's my opinion.

She asked me to abort where I staying on the application form,
then she asked me a TaBienBann, Mi TaBienBann?.
Although, I do not know if she wanted my Tabien Bann,
Bann Tabien of my Gf, or the TabienBan of my landlord,
I have had no idea,
and I can not get any TaBienBan at this address, so for me she did not care about my head.
My darling has meanwhile send the TabienBan the isaan, and that was not enough,

MyGf say me : the easiest way is to have address, it's so say i stay in Isaan and provide Isaan TabienBan.
Because I can not prove that I live in Bangkok without showing his TabienBan of a witness living near.
It seems that the requested evidence to prove an address is to have witnesses staying near.

Thanks for the info. It makes no mention of proof of residence or certificate of residence but seems to require an alien certificate. Is this the same same as certificate of residence? Any wonder I am confused but I need to understand this.

Proof of residence = hotel receipt or tabien baan.

Certificate of residence = alien certificate = immigration or my embassy.

An alien certificate is for people with permanent residency.

I don't think they want anything more that an address on the form to get the tax ID number.

You just need your passport with a valid permit to stay to prove you are here legally in the country.

I just understand why she asked me a tabienban.

A lawyer sent me this :

PERMANENT RESIDENCE

Obtaining a Permanent Residence Permit, also known as Residence Visa or Permanent Visa, in Thailand involves a complicated procedure.

Nonetheless, the advantages of successfully getting one suffice the effort, time and money spent during the arduous process.

The Permanent Residence Permit allows you to stay in Thailand permanently without the need for a Visa.

TABIEN BAAN

Holders of Permanent residency can get a blue book (Tor Ror 14) and holders of temporary visas can get on the yellow book (Tor Ror 13).

The Provincial Administration reiterated an important point, that foreigners have the right to be listed on the census registration, “It is not well known even among officials.

We have contacted registration officials that you have this right and you should insist on it.”

For many, registration on a Yellow Tabien Baan is beneficial because many Thai government offices view a Tabien Baan as definitive proof of lawful presence in Thailand and use the information in the Tabien Baan accordingly.

90 day reporting is currently required of those foreigners remaining in Thailand on a Thai visa extension.

Anyone in the Kingdom on an extension must report their address every 90 days.

As can be gathered from the above quotation, some foreign nationals in Thailand feel that the 90 day reporting requirement is cumbersome.

However, Thai authorities seem unwilling to change the rules as the current system would seem to provide the most efficient method of maintaining records as to the last known addresses of foreign nationals in Thailand.

Indeed my proofs of address were a water bill, electricity and the Internet contract, it goes without saying (for immigration) that the opening of these contracts on behalf of foreign name have to own a tabienban, which is not the case, I have always had to present only my passport !

My passport with only one year, she must have thought I was in Thailand for longer, with water contract, electricity, internet, subscribed with Tabienban, it also explains that she asks me for my extension.

I will tomorrow ask the papers to do my tabienbann, my landlord will be my witness.
