Maybe they considered their burgers 'par excellence' and the use of condiments 'superfluous'.

Which, BTW is a double standard as most noodle shops have the standard basket of Thai condiments.

I walked by that burger place on Nimman the other night, and the cooking meat smelled bad....up to you.

Care to share with us what you are talking about?

Try the one at Geckos. Not a fancy one but the char broiled burger is delicious. You can add some condiments to it also.

the mobile burger place on Nimman...there's only one. I realized the cow is dead before it goes on the grill, but this one smelled like it was dead before it went to slaughter.

Did you try the Aussie boys burgers at the Pantip Plaza parking lot already ?

They are in my top 5 !

We tried them last week and neither of us finished the burger (very unusual for us) horribly, horribly greasy, and there were about a dozen chips each in the tiny portion. I had to make munchies later as we were both still hungry.

Maybe we just got unlucky - the tops of the buns were literally dripping with grease, possibly from the melted cheese or bacon fat. The patty wasn't very appetising but there was a lot of bacon. As I said, maybe we just got unlucky, we had heard a lot of people raving about it.

Maybe the O/P chose to eat it without condiments. Noodle shops set them out so that you can make the choice.
