Bangladesh blocks Twitter, Skype, imo after unblocking Facebook

DHAKA: -- The latest clampdown on micro-blogging site Twitter, Microsoft Corp's online telephone and video service Skype, and communication app imo came on Sunday night amid the ban on Facebook Messenger, Viber, and WhatsApp.

Several officials with internet and mobile-phone operators told bdnews24.com they received instructions from the BTRC after 9pm on Sunday.

BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood told bdnews24.com at around 11:15pm “it was nothing new”.

“It is the continuation of the previous instruction,” he said.
