Domestic flight document check - 1 day overstay...

Featured Replies

I've just booked a flight to leave Thailand 1 day after my visa ends, silly mistake I know, but I was thinking the same as I've done before - leave on an early flight out of Don Muang the day after my visa ends - usually just out of convenience, and without any fine or implications.

I booked the flight to Nakhon Phanom to go to Mukhdahan and on to Laos to get a new visa, automatically thinking I was doing the same as I usually do, but I won't be leaving the country will I!!

What are the document checks like for domestic flights? I've read elsewhere that simply a copy of my passport might be adequate...(?)

If I have to show my passport, at the domestic departures in DM, I don't remember passing through any kind of documents check.

Any advice(apart from 'you shouldn't have done that') would be appreciated! smile.png

I have not fully understood your description, but about the document check:

For domestic flights you just need proof of identity.

They just look for the photo/name page in your passport.

No check of visa/permission to stay.

A Thai drivers license would also be sufficient.

That's all I need to read KB!

When I fly out of the country every 90 days for a couple of days, I sometimes book a flight for the day after my visa ends, this way I don't get a fine, I do this depending on the convenience of the day/dates I have to leave.

When I booked this flight I don't the same thing, not thinking that I wasn't flying out of the country, only domestically :(

So I'll be arriving at the border with 1 days overstay, I assume, incurring a fine of B500

I was just worried that I would get trouble at the airport for being 1 day over.

one day overstay at the Airport its free no need to paid 500 when you checking tell her you overstay 1 day

I'm not asking about that, thanks for your contribution anyway :)

You will have to pay the 500 baht overstay at the border, and remember that at a land border they count overstay from the first day but at the airport you will get the first day free.
