Six months after July’s 2015 Korea-Cambodia Agricultural Cooperation Seminar, South Korea has decided to give $2 million in grants to upgrade the Kampong Cham National School of Agriculture over the next two years.

Last Wednesday, Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron and Secretary of State for Agriculture Ty Sokun met with Chung Jong Hyok, managing director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), to discuss plans for the future of the university. South Korean Ambassador to Cambodia Kim Weon-jin attended the talks, which ended with an agreement being signed on funding for the school.

The agreement was signed one day after Cambodia and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding for the export of fresh mangoes to South Korea.
