Question on Visa Exemption Stamp from US

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is obvious but I've been searching and with the new rules I am worried about a situation coming up.

I am going to thailand for my first time and I am from the US. I plan on getting the 30 day stamp and using it to spend time around the islands, and then when it is almost up I wanted to go to Cambodia. I planned on returning overland toThailand and heading north to Chiang Mai with a new 30 day exemption stamp. While I was researching I read the Cambodian boarder may refuse me. I'm just a tourist are they only rejecting people with a bunch of stamps or everyone.

Thanks for your help in advance, I seriously appreciate it.

I mean will I be denied returning back into Thailand, not going into Cambodia.

You will not have a problem re-entering the country from Cambodia. I suspect you have been reading some outdated and/or misleading info.

thanks alot... It was too articles that came up with "various reports." It was from last year but I didn't see anything recent that answered my specific question.

Thanks again.

How many of the 30 day "in-then-out" tourist stamps can one get before reentry becomes a problem?

Also, can each one of those get a 30 day extension? Thanks for the info ubonjoe! GOM

It depends upon the border crossing you use. Some are limiting them to a total of 90 days in a calendar year.

It is best to get a single entry tourist visa rather than doing border runs.
