nivram4491
I have a Non Immigrant Visa with extensions based on Retirement. My current extension expires in March. I use a combination of pension income plus bank balance to make up the 800,000 Baht. When I go for my next extension in Chiang Mai my bank balance will be 10 to 15 days short of 90 day seasoning. I need a plan B if the extension gets knocked back. Is it possible to get a 90 day single entry Non Immigrant visa in Vientiane in my situation? I am divorced from my Thai ex-wife. Most of the references I can find refer to obtaining a Non O based on having a Thai wife. If I can get the 90 day single entry Non Immigrant visa can I apply for extension of stay in Chiang Mai based on retirement?
elviajero
As long as you can show 800k or 65k or a combination (no seasoned funds required) at Vientiane you won't have a problem getting a new non 'O'. Yes in the last 30 days of the new 90 day entry you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay. As it will be the first extension of a new entry the funds only need to be in the bank for 2 months. ubonjoe
The written rules do not have a seasoning requirement when using the combination of income a money in the bank option. There are a few offices that want it to be seasoned though but I don't recall Chiang Mai being one of them.
