Has the idea ever been floated for a public list of current suspended members?

I think this would be helpful, firstly as a warning to other members that a particular post or attitude from an offending member was unacceptable. This would surely assist members in following the rules and cut down on mod-required action, thus helping the mods too.

Secondly, it would serve as a bit of transparency in mod actions and prove the even-handedness of mods.

Thirdly, the list would provide information about when we might expect a member to be back contributing. Sometimes we miss those people, lol.

Fourthly, why not? Why the secrecy? It does not seem to serve any purpose.

A suggested format would be: Member, rule breach, where the breach occurred, suspended for xx days from xyz date.

Alternatively, mod procedure could be to name the suspended person at the same time as posting "a post in breach of forum rules has been deleted".
