Most convenient way to get re-entry permit?

Featured Replies

I'm leaving over-land so getting one at the airport is out of the question.

Do I have to go to Chaengwattana? How can I ensure it goes quickly and smoothly? Will the office be open on Dec. 25?

You can get it from CW but they are also available at some land borders. Where are you crossing?

I will be going through Aranyaprathet / Poipet.

Unless there's a better way to get into Cambodia from Bangkok without flying? I'm ultimately heading to Siem Reap.

All immigration offices will be open on Christmas day.

Edit: There is a re-entry permit desk at the Aran/Poi Pet crossing.

This is the first I'm hearing of a re-entry desk at Aran. That's great news! I really didn't want to go to CW.

Quick followup - is the re-entry desk at the border or is it at Aran's immi office? Read online that you can get re-entry at Aran but NOT at the border?

I have seen posts about getting one at the border.

If you will be traveling close to New Years you might want to consider getting the re-entry permit at CW on Christmas day (probably not busy), There was a report about long lines to get one at Poi Pet last year.

Make an appointment online with CW for the re-entry permit and avoid the queue altogether. In and out in five minutes! It works. I've done it.

The re-entry permit desk is at the border checkpoint. It's on the right hand side of the office where they stamp you out of Thailand.

It always looks busy when I've been there.

Link from button on Bangkok immigration website. https://extranet.immigration.go.th/qrepsonline

You will need IE or an extension for it on another browser to use it.

Don't cross at Aranya/poipet towards the end of the year, I made this mistake twice, the lines were incredible on both sides, with a total of almost 3 hours queuing up, lines snaking out of building into the hot sun.

Ban Packard crossing very quiet, but doubt they issue reentry permits.
