Would it be logical to think it would be less busy on the 25th, than the 24th?

You overestimate the importance of Christmas to the typical Thailand expat.

25 is a Friday which is normally not the best day to go.

Reports in the forum from the last days say that the Jomtien office is jam packed anyway these days?

I'm going there on Friday as it's my reporting day. I predict it will be quiet - I'll let you know.

I went once on a Christmas day a couple of years ago, it wasn't busy.

I have been this week on Monday. it was heaving with lots of impatient Farang, could have turned into a brawl on a couple of occasions, standing room only and queues out into the car park.

I was there again on Tuesday afternoon, it wasn't as busy, but still pretty packed.

Christmas Day: 1:15 pm - seats about 75% occupied. All staff were wearing santa uniforms, including hats. The receptionist (ticket-giver) was eating ice cream at the desk - had to get her attention to serve me as she was too busy on her cellphone. They just don't get basic manners, do they.

There was no wait for reporting.

Got my retirement extension this morning. In and out in 16 minutes. Will collect my passport Monday morning.

Was there a new requirement regarding proof of address? Like a completed TM 30?

Normally I provide them with my lease and a TOT bill.

No one said anything to me about either a TM 30 or tabien baan.

In previous years I brought along a recent 3BB or condo monthly statement, but I wasn't asked for it. Because I've read more posts on TV about proof of address being required (at some offices) recently, this time I brought along a copy of condo monthly statement and a copy of the chanote for my condo. Not sure if they were really needed, but the person checking documents looked at them and kept them.

I would guess that a copy of a lease and recent TOT bill would suffice.

There was a woman before me who was asked something about did she own her condo or house. Didn't hear it all, but she was told she needed something and was sent off to get whatever it was they wanted.
