My friend arrived Bangkok on 2nd December got the 30 day tourist visa at airport he wants to stay a few more weeks after it is finished can he get another extension at emigration for 1900 baht and does he have to wait until the last day to do that. Can he do it before the last day witch is 1st January. Thanks

Your friend can obtain ONE 30 day extension to the stay permitted by the visa exempt entry.

An extension can be applied for up to two weeks early.

They can get a 30 day extension of the visa exempt entry (not a VOA or tourist visa) they got at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

They can apply for it from Monday to Wednesday next week. Immigration will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Just to add, you lose nothing by applying early, the extension starts from the end of the current permission to stay.

Can he do it before the last day witch is 1st January.

Only three open days left (28, 29, 30) before his permission to stay ends.
