BANGKOK — The Administrative Court ruled on Friday, that the ban issued by the Film Censorship Board in 2010, for the movie “Insects in the Backyard”, which addressed sexuality and gender, was legitimate due to a scene in the drama showing sex organs and intercourse.

Five years after the director, Tanwarin Sukkhapisit, 42, appealed the 2010 ban , the Court today said that three seconds of a scene in which the main character is watching a pornographic movie, which shows uncensored genitalia and intercourse was considered as pornography. Pornography is against public order and morality and is illegal according to Article 287 of the Criminal Code.

“The Court said Insects in the Backyard has a scene showing sexual intercourse for around three seconds, which it deemed to be against good morals,” said the lawyer, Yingcheep Atchanont.

There once was a story in China about a married couple who could not conceive a child for years. They finally seek medical assistance.

The cause of their problem was that they had thought holding hands while sleeping together would get the woman pregnant.

If they had only watch the insects copulate...

You mean I can't get a girl pregnant by holders her hand?

Thank god I have been getting that one wrong.

A scene showing sexual intercourse for around three seconds.

I`ve had girls tell me, I`ll love you short time, but 3 seconds is ridiculous, even for Thailand.

It's hardly deep throat revisited is it.

Not enough vaseline for 3 seconds?

7 years of argument and litigation instead of a 3 second cut. Can't these people talk to each other?

Rhetorical question? coffee1.gif

We are surrounded by communication devices and yet the Thais are the ones who least talk to each other. Super strange. blink.png

I could only watch 1/2 the trailer it was so drool.

Yeah, 3 seconds is ridiculous, but why fight it when you can remove it and move on.

"There once was a story in China about a married couple who could not conceive a child for years. They finally seek medical assistance." I read a similar story in the China Daily and it turned out the guy was sticking it in the wrong hole.

But showing a middle aged man savouring the smell of a child's knickers before raping her on daytime tv's okay?

In Thailand pornography is much more against public order and morality than coup d'etats and theft of Thai peoples' rights and liberties.

Perhaps like the military, the producer of “Insects in the Backyard” can invoke Article 69 and grant the film amnesty.

but RAPE is ok on national tv. ... and even rewarded.

How come an old woman putting on diapers uncensored be ok and insects being insects not? Or they pad commericial showing several women flying spread legs be in good taste?

Many of the covers of the knock of CD's sold by street vendors are explicit...

Do not see much being done about prosecuting them.
