Dutch passport, transferring Tourist Visa and getting an Extension

Featured Replies

My boyfriend is a Dutch national. He's got a new passport so needs to have his tourist visa transferred to his new passport plus he wants to get a 30 day extension to his tourist visa. Can this all be done at the same time in Promenada ? Is there any public transport there ? We know there's the free shuttle from Amora but that's only in the afternoon. Thanks.

The visa will not be transferred. If his visa is still valid for entry he will need to show both passports on entry to use the visa.

Immigration will transfer his entry/permit to stay stamp and do an annotation about the visa he used for entry. Then they would do the extension in his new passport.

He has used the tourist visa already [entry mid-November] and has got the new passport since entering Thailand. So do they move the visa to the new passport first before doing the extension or is it done at the same time ?

Thanks for the bus link but that's the free shuttle bus that doesn't start til 11.30 am.

They will do the stamp (not the visa) transfer prior to doing the extension. Not sure if it will be done at the same desk but can be done in the same trip.

It seems you will have find other transport if you want to go early.
