BANGKOK, 29 December 2015 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha today chaired the last cabinet meeting of the year at Government House under tight security.

Prior to the meeting, the Prime Minister met Miss Thailand Universe 2015 Aniporn Chalermburanawong and the organizing team who were invited to call on him by Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Watanawarangkul, to help in the 2016 New Year Countdown campaign. The event is scheduled from 29th-31st December 2015 along Chao Phraya River.

The Prime Minister has advised the media that the cabinet meeting today was to discuss progress in implementing the government’s policies and he planned to deliver new policies to the cabinet for implementation over the next year and six months. The Prime Minister also said that he does not want anything as a New Year’s gift this year but he wishes Thailand a safe future and asks everyone to do their best for the country.

The Prime Minister also drove a Tuk Tuk taxi around Government House with Miss Thailand Universe as his passenger.

Unfortunately, Thailand don't make Lambo's, Porsche or any of the other cars you see in the Super Car carpark at Siam Paragon to address those most likely to be embarrassed.... so a Tuk Tuk ensemble had to be better option than the front end of a Fortuner or a D max.. right???

Some of Thai's I know take themselves a bit too seriously; but the rest, see this as a "jai dee" marketing statement from a country that has not fared all that well in global opinion in recent years........and have been educated.

Apparently there is no foreign work quotas or visa's for ageing, expat spin doctors in the current regime... so I'll have to be content with "sharing the love" in this forum. :-)
