webfact Posted December 29, 2015 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Police say they are prepared for Bangkok countdown eventsBANGKOK, 30 December 2015 (NNT) – Police in Bangkok say that they are prepared and will be ready to provide security during at the major new year countdown locations.Police Spokesman Pol Gen Dejnarong Sutthicharnbancha said that a meeting took place with the military and entrepreneurs of shopping malls along Ratchaprasong Road in preparation of Bangkok Countdown 2016 @Central World event, asserting officials are prepared to perform their duties to their best of their abilities.It is expected that the Bangkok Countdown 2016 event will attract about 200,000 attendees. The event will be patrolled by 4,000 police officers working in cooperation with other agencies.Street vendors in front of the event venue are asked to refrain from placing their retail wares from midnight on 30th December, while the officers will perform an inspection of the locations starting at noon on the 31st December.Attendees of the event will have to pass through metal detectors, and are urged not to carry backpacks with them for their convenience and safety.
