I have tried to search for the information but am getting no where

If you have a tourist visa and have never done a VOA, if your tourist visa clocks up 90 days from October 1st does that mean you can not do a VOA on jan 1st? even if you have never done one before

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can not get a straight answer anywhere

Some people say the law is after people who have been doing VOA for years others say no matter if you have a multiple tourist visa the starts at Oct 1st

If anyone has any ideas I would really really apprecite it

Yes it starts counting days you stay on VOA at Oct 1st. From there on you will only be allowed to stay 90 out of 180 days in Thailand with VOA. Days you stay with terrorist visa does not count to this 90 days. So in your case the days you can go to the border and get a VOA at jan 1st.

The problem how to get a tourist-terror-visa here in asia is a total different discussion.

But please remember that it looks like the guys are changing the rules every week at the moment.

1. The regulations are not about visa on arrival (VOA - most people are not eligible for them) but on 30 day visa exempt entry.

2. I do not believe any country issues "terrorist visa".

3. Don't believe there is a "tourist-terror visa" either.

Tourist Terror? I am just looking to clarify the VOA status if you have never doen one

I know the system has been abused but I am no backpacker and TH is no different than anywhere else in the world where some element of the system is abused whether visas or otherwise

Every country has its bad element of people from other countries bending the rules to suit themselves

tourist-terror-visa

I to would like one of these visas, do I gain extra powers? Is there a uniform? Do I have to pay for the uniform myself?

So many questions

If anyone is any doubt rumour has it the Costa Del Sol issued these visas in the 80's so we could probably phone the Spanish embassy for more info

Just trying to ask a straight question - not a visa runner just looking for some clarity for a stay that might infringe the new rules with the changes

Not trying to bend any rules just trying to work out fact versus fiction

Don't listen too much to advice given here. Very simple, log onto Thai Embassy, London website, its all there. If you are still confused then call 0044 225 5512 after 2 pm. Very helpful I can assure you.

You can still spend as much time in Thailand as you like on a prpoer Tourist visa or any other visa, that has been obtained from a Thai embassy or consulate abroad . You are only alowed to spend a total of 90 days per every 180 days in thailand on the free Visa exempt stamp that you get when you enter into Thailand without a visa. So if you dont have a visa such as a tourist visa, a non immigrant visa or whatever other visa's there are when you come into Thailand, you will be given a free visa exempt stamp when you enter thailand (length in stay granted depends on where your from) and you can only spend a total on 90 days in thailand in a 180 day period on this stamp. After you have spend a total of 90 days in thailand in this 180 day period, you must leave and get a visa from an embassy or consualte to re entry thailand, if you dont wanna do that, you cant come back into thailand for another 90 days (untill your 180 day block has finished). And you just repeat that cycle..................

And about this so called "Terrorist Visa".............................

Do I qualify for that being an Aussie??????????????? :o

I wonder if you are listening to the answers (obvious flippant tripe excepted).

Do you now appreciate that 'VOA' is a misnomer and you should be asking about Tourist Visa Exemptions...? :o

Fair enough

I say VOA and some people say Tourist Visa Exemption - either way my original question was straight forward enough so your comment is about as helpful as correcting my use of grammar

Actually, VOA is incorrect and misleading. A Visa on Arrival is only given to citizens of certain countries. So, by asking about a VOA instead of visa exemption stamps you may find yourself with the wrong information.

It does seem nitpicky but sometimes poor communication can lead to problems further down the road.

What docs are needed for the Terrorist Visa? i'll try anything, i dont have a beard though

My feeling and readings about the raise of the National Park entry fee was it happend because we are terrorists to the thai nature. But maybe instead of showing 10 receipts from previous NP visitings it may be enough to get a farang-tourist-terror-visa when you promise on the bible that you will visit Pattaya and be the greatest kineau ever. That should be enough terror for the poor little girls there.

Well at least we are now as welcome as terrorists in thailand :o

Sorry at the moment i can't discuss visa things without humour anymore. Hope that this up and down, foreward and backward will come to a stop soon. It really really has a bad influence on my mood.
