December 31, 201510 yr Hi All, During a routine call yesterday Skype did an update which abruptly terminated the call and now fails to work ('Sorry, cannot connect to skype' & blaming my connection!). Over several hours I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype and Zonealarm at the latter's suggestion and concluded that they must have crashed due to the new year but today I find that the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas please? Note: - Skype works as usual on my smartphone. - The computer had recently been off for a month awaiting battery (see separate thread) - Windows on the device is genuine & not a copy. - Skype and ZA have worked together on a number of devices for years without any prob until now. I doubt if ZA are to blame. Happy New Year Edited December 31, 201510 yr by evadgib
December 31, 201510 yr Author I should add that I can sign in via their website but not via the app on my desktop. If my OP isn't clear it relates to a netbook hooked up to a TV this end enabling grandchildren to see grandparents on a full sized screen. Edited December 31, 201510 yr by evadgib
