December 31, 201510 yr As a result of a visa / accounting office mistake (about which I posted on this site before) I have now overstayed. If I go to immigration at the airport and pay the overstaying fine of 20000 baht will there afterwards be any record of this overstaying at all? I need to afterwards go to another country to get a non immigrant visa with which to get a marriage visa in Thailand, will my having overstayed affect this? Thanks.
December 31, 201510 yr Yes, there will be record of the overstay. With or without an overstay record, you are unlikely to get a non-O visa for the purpose of travelling to Thailand to get married there. A tourist visa would fit that purpose. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
December 31, 201510 yr Yes. You need to be married already to get a non 'O' visa based on marriage but the overstay will not affect you getting any visa.
January 1, 201610 yr The overstay will have no effect on getting a single entry non-o visa that you will need to apply for an extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage. I assume you are already married.

Yes I am already married, Sorry 2 more questions just to get it all straight: So the overstay won't have any effect on getting the single entry non o visa AND ALSO not on getting the marriage visa afterwards,is that correct? You recommended Vietiane(Laos) as a good place to get the non O visa at the moment,is Penang ok too? Thanks for all the info Ubonjoe,it is much appreciated.
January 1, 201610 yr The overstay will have no effect on getting a visa or an extension of stay. Penang will also do a single entry non-o without a problem.
