Car drives at soldiers on guard outside Mosque in southern France

In southern France soldiers opened fired on a car which tried to ram them twice. They were on guard outside a Mosque. The driver of the car is now in hospital while an elderly worshipper was injured.

In Egypt, 15 drown after rural ferry sinks in Nile River

CAIRO (AP) — Egyptian search parties on Friday recovered an elderly man's body from the Nile River, bringing the death toll to 15 from the sinking of a small ferryboat on New Year's Eve, officials said. Two more people believed to have been on the boat were still missing.
