Early morning. Little slow with the phone video, shortbut interesting, came in from South to North under an aircraft taking off towards Downtown Chiangmai, left a trail.

That is an airliner at 35,000 feet leaving a vapor trail. Actually rarely seen above Chiang Mai because its not located below any major air routes. The only flights that pass over Chiang Mai are a few flights to Mandalay from Bangkok. Very very occasionally does anything else fly over on some strange routing that causes it to pass over CM. If you live in europe or the USA the sky can be full of vapor trails.

I just saw on Thai PBS that it was a meteor. A good, or bad, New Year omen!

Seems more likely considering the trajectory.

Couple of more videos:

I am a bit of an amateur astronomer. On clear nights I go outside into the garden looking up at the heavens, usually when I`m sober. Over the last week or so I have seen an unusual amount of meteors, some very large but nothing on the scale as shown in those videos, not yet anyway.

It appears to be a meteor running out of steam, very low and possibly fragments had hit the ground. Read that there have been a couple of asteroids skimming passed the Earth and wondering if these fireballs are chunks broken off from those asteroids? The thing is, would the governments tell us if they were?

Pretty sure this was debris from a Russian Rocket, as LivinLOS linked to.

Space debris flies through sky above Thailand
Man uses his selfie stick to catch the moment debris from a Russian rocket re enters Earth's atmosphere above Thailand

Telegraph.co.uk | By Telegraph Video, video source YouTube / Charnchai Jardpimai | 11:30AM GMT 02 Jan 2016

A Thai man using a selfie stick got a surprise on Saturday, January 2, when he spotted something flying across the sky while he was filming himself.

Charnchai Jardpimai was using his selfie stick in Phitsanulok province, four hours north of Bangkok, when, what is believed to be debris from a Russian rocket, whizzed across the sky.

Jardpimai, and many others, believed the object to be a meteor, however the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand said it was likely debris from a Russian rocket.

The rocket was ejected following the launch of a weather satellite from Kazakhstan on December 11.

A website that tracks material in space predicted the debris would reenter the Earth’s atmosphere on January 2.

Watch the video to see the man's surprise as he spots the rocket debris in the sky.

Chemtrails, you're gonna die.

Actually no....... if you see your entrails, you gonna die...... 1,2,3 bye bye

True, Phii Krasue

Probably one of the most feared ghosts in Thailand is Phi Krasue, a ghost that appears as a floating head which has glowing red entrails dangling from it's neck. In the video above the studio panel discuss the claims that the red light captured by the female student, also show in the clip, is that of a Phi Krasue.
