Buying A Condo In Bkk

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a condo in BKK, I'd prefer the Chidlom/Wireless Rd area as it's near to work and feel it would be easy to sell in the future as it's the main hub for Bangkok with the new shopping centres and condo's poping up everywhere - A little like the Regent Street of Ldn!

I have 5mil baht. Is this going to get me anything nice? Can anyone recommend any apartment blocks in this area where they have condos for sale? I'm not really looking for a pool, gym and so on, just a well kept building with spacious rooms.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Hi L.U.

I was under the impression that you lived in Bangkok and had a company there.???

Surely you read the BK Post?????

I am in the process of buying one there, but you know that most Posters will tell you to keep your money in your pocket.

I'll sell you mine for 5m though :o

True. I do have a business in Bangkok and spend most of my time here. To be honest, I’m in the early stages so want to research every angle before making my final decision. I have used the bkk post and had a walk around the area and seen a couple I like, but worry I might have missed some that are better. I've received 2 PM's so far from posters that are selling so it was worth the time it took me to write this post!

My opinion is that it's never the right time to buy, no one can predict the future so it boils down to research, gut feeling and risk. I'm not buying to make a profit, although that would be a bonus. I just want somewhere I can call home, do home improvements at the weekends, buy a flash cooker and not have to worry that it will be a waste of money, paint the walls the colour I like and so on.

Good luck with buying your place!

Chris

Try searching the different banks websites, each bank usually has a property department for condos repoed by the bank, (so good deals).

Or try searching some property sites:

http://realtyworld.co.th/ (dont view in firefox, their site sux, but lots of property)

http://property.th.com/

http://bestbuycondo.com/

Alot of the good property websites (with lots of condos listed) are in Thai, so the search boxes etc are hard to use, so either get a Thai friend to spend an hour at the PC searching with you, or use this:
