PM Slams CNRP Youths on Facebook

Khmer Times/May Titthara

Prime Minister Hun Sen yesterday blasted youths from the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) for foul language on his Facebook page, citing an example of a comment made after he posted photos of a visit to a sick friend.

At 7:10 pm on Sunday, the prime minister uploaded photos of his visit to a sick friend who he knew from his days in the military, Nhek Houn. Mr. Hun Sen said he never forgot his friend because they fought together to liberate Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge.

And at 8.15 pm he replied to a CNRP youth named Vanarith Heng who had ridiculed the post.

“Vannarith Heng, if you are insane do not behave insanely on this occasion,” Mr. Hun Sen wrote. He said the youth was behaving like a gangster and needed to be told that this was not socially acceptable. “Nephew, if you attack you should know how to find the appropriate time. Don’t be a gangster like your leader,” he wrote.
