Is eating soy products on a daily basis a good idea or are their health risks in consuming too much soy? There are lots of studies and different results and rather confusing as they say different things.I find it a good source of protein.

Too much is not good as it promotes estrogen growth....meaning if youre a guy you lose your mojo, start to grow tits....if youre a bingo player go for it doesnt matter anyway.

Tempeh is much healthier version of soy.

There's still seems to be a big controversy about soy and estrogen in scientific community.

You will not find the final answer here. I think that for an adult a few bites of soy a week shouldn't cause any problems.

You can also find high quality protein in raw/whole dairy products, eggs, beef, poultry, sea food, bean, lentils, nuts and many others

Don't forget that healthy diet, lifestyle, is not only proteins. You also need healthy fats, carbohydrates and micronutrients(vitamins and minerals), exercise and so on ...

rock solid health for you. Good luck

Agree with that.

Additionally much of the soy on the market is genetically modified so unless you are getting organic tempeh or organic bean curd better to avoid.

Absolutely nothing wrong with GMO food. Far safer for you than organic. To explain, when organic vegetables are attacked by insects or fungi it provokes a response. The vegetable produces toxic compounds to repel the attacker. These toxic compounds can also be toxic to humans.

Do tell.

And how did you arrive at this conclusion that the food that nature has provided over thousands of years is inferior to something that has recently come out of test tube?

Do you work for Monsanto or something?cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

You only expose your own ignorance with such a statement. "Test tube" food? Lol. Another individual who clearly has no understanding of what GMO even means. If you were only half as educated as you think you are, you would know that well over 90% of food as already been genetically modified in one way or another. But by all means.....have fun with your conspiracy theories.

Virtually no legitimate evidence that moderate amounts of soy do any of this to men. Men already have naturally occuring estrogen in their body, and drinking some soy milk each day is not going to turn one into a women by any means....

Until there are some long term studies that prove that GMO foods are harmless then I will be avoiding them and soy is one of the biggest GMO crops going around.

GMO was invented by monsanto to sell its pesticide RoundUp.

GMOs are an entire field of expanding science....not a specific "thing" that a corporation invented.

People really need to ditch the tin foil hats.....

This is taken by the link previously posted which is a relatively pro GMO site although it does mention the risks.

People have been altering the genomes of plants and animals for many years using traditional breeding techniques. Artificial selection for specific, desired traits has resulted in a variety of different organisms, ranging from sweet corn to hairless cats. But this artificial selection, in which organisms that exhibit specific traits are chosen to breed subsequent generations, has been limited to naturally occurring variations. In recent decades, however, advances in the field of genetic engineering have allowed for precise control over the genetic changes introduced into an organism. Today, we can incorporate new genes from one species into a completely unrelated species through genetic engineering, optimizing agricultural performance or facilitating the production of valuable pharmaceutical substances. Crop plants, farm animals, and soil bacteria are some of the more prominent examples of organisms that have been subject to genetic engineering.

Carefully curated garbage….are you a monsanto rep?

Expanding science my ass…..the only thing it expands is monsanto's bottom line.

Creating pesticide resistant seeds to sell their weedkiller….selling seeds at a premium to farmers….harassing farmers who won't use their seeds….despicable.

I mean seriously..... The stupidity of such a question. But the answer is no.... I simply a man who knows more about this subject then you.

Your entire argument is based on the claim Monsanto has done some horrible things and therefore GMOs as a scientific field are somehow equally horrible. A 5th grader could dismantle such an infantile argument with ease.

I honestly have no clue what your point is. You seem to be back pedalling now and claiming there may be some "risks"....still does not account for the stupidity of your" test tube" food statement. I will assume you are simply under a grave misapprehension regarding what and how GMOs work.

You only think you are avoiding them. The vast majority of food humans consume has already been genetically modified. Avoiding soy will make no difference.

there must be a reason monsanto is banned in so many countries…if you don't work for them, maybe now is the time to sign up and spread the gmo gospel.

I wouldn't touch that crap with a bargepole.

I feel like a broken record. I don't know how many times I have to say it. You already do touch it! You only think you don't. Almost all food as already been genetically modified. This is not complex stuff and you don't need a PhD to understand this.

And you are so obscenely ignorant with your comments. Monsanto is not banned in any country. There are certain products Monsanto has produced that are banned or restricted in certain countries. Not the same thing at all! And it does not even matter because your claim is a fallacious one. Just because lots of people (or countries) believe something has absolutely no correlation to the factual nature of such beliefs. Again, simple stuff that you really don't need a doctorate to understand. You think you know so much, but clearly know so little.......

You are beginning to sound more and more like a spokesman for Monsanto...

The fact that you have reverted back to that line 3 times know exposes your limited intelligence. Nothing much more to say.

It's almost funny (in a pathetic way) because while you continually insinuate that I am somehow involves with Monsanto, it is quite clear you are simply an uneducated conspiracy theorist. All I have done is state the facts and corrected your lies and false statements. If that somehow means I am working or am a spokesman for the company.... Well, once again..... A 5th grade could see through such infantile logic.

You have provided absolutely no evidence of the safety of GMO and until there are some long term studies that can prove GMO aka genetically modified foods are safe then the dangers will always be there.

I doubt that you even understand what a GMO food is?

I provided a link for you so maybe you should educate yourself a bit instead of your nonsense unsubstantiated claims of 90 percent of foods being genetically modified. You are just showing yourself as ignorant buffoon with comments like that.

The burden of proof regarding a conspiracy theory lies with the person promoting the conspiracy, not with those that question the stupidity of such absurd claims. You are an ideologue and there is no further reason for me to even acknowledge (from this point forth) the stupidity pouring from your keyboard.

He's trying to pull the wool over our eyes…a classic Monsanto ploy….trying to insinuate that, for example, marrying two strains of rice to create a faster growing hybrid strain is the SAME as GMO…..what a shill!

LOL.
